About Corey

Corey Parton is a natural, skilled and effective litigator with a passion for asserting and defending his clients' rights. Mr. Parton is the founder and managing partner at Parton & Associates. He has practiced law in Charlotte, N.C., since 2013, winning settlements for his clients in the areas of Commercial Litigation and finding the best possible outcomes for his clients facing charges in Criminal Defense. Mr. Parton has a Juris Doctorate and completed his legal education in less than two-and-a-half years. During his time in law school he earned Dean's List honors twice, served as a Teaching Assistant, member of the Elder Law Clinic, Federalist Society, and participated in the Expunction Project. He also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Communication from Virginia Tech, where he was a member of the Men's Lacrosse Team. Mr. Parton is a former member of the Board of Directors of Eagle Rock Camp, a non-profit dedicated to providing Wounded Warriors and their families opportunities and resources to reconnect. He also serves as the Vice-Chair on the Board of Directors for the Mecklenburg County Bar's Lawyer Referral Service and a Member of the Mecklenburg County Bar Sports Committee. He is a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States, Mecklenburg County Bar's Criminal Defense & Small and Solo Practice Sections, has served as a Judge for the Carolinas Cup Trial Team Competition, and has been featured on Charlotte's WBTV-3 & Time Warner Cable News as a legal consultant. Mr. Parton has been recognized with an Outstanding Teacher Award for his volunteer work teaching English as a Second Language to Adults and has been published by the American Bar Association and Charlotte School of Law's Civil Rights Clinic. Mr. Parton's work experience includes a position in the Pentagon in the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Policy, and on Capitol Hill as a Staff Assistant for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security. Both positions required him to hold a Top Secret Security Clearance issued by the US Government. In 2013, he opened the doors to a successful solo practice in Charlotte: Parton Law Firm. In 2015, he partnered with Chad Buckingham to create Parton Buckingham PLLC, which later became Parton & Associates, PLLC.Mr. Parton is a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan which has taught him patience, perseverance and how to stay true during tough times.
