I have extensive managerial and client-facing experience. I have run companies from the business side as well as handling legal duties, and am successful at integrating business objectives with legal obligations. In addition to my legal skills, I have strong experience in strategic planning, innovation, program/product development and operational execution, marketing and communications, team and organizational development, legal strategy and planning, and all areas of operational management. I'm adept at utilizing flexibility, initiating and managing change to acheive results working with diverse cultures, organizational structures and external alliances. I am comfortable with both legal and business considerations and can provide an outside opinion that is based on strategic goals.
I have worked with technology, entertainment, sports, music, publishing, hospitality, food and beverage, healthcare, financial, packaged goods, retail, "green" and organic, wellness, nonprofit, intellectual property licensing, and other specialized contract and negotiation areas, including negotiations with the "big boys" of these industries. I cover employment issues, leases, policies and procedures, and all day-to-day transactional matters and legal documents. My background as a copywriter enables me to write innovative employee handbooks, operational manuals, strategic plans. I can even provide workshops for developing mission, vision and core values statements as well as short and long term goals. I can be as much a coach and strategic advisor as attorney and provide context based on experience in the trenches from startup through IPO and more. I provide strategic counsel and support for individuals, solo and micropreneurs, small and midsize businesses as well as divisions of larger businesses.
I also provide services to attorneys or firms with overflow or conflict transactional work that requires experienced counsel. I guide startups and growing companies in developing the proper foundation for growth, prosperity and efficiency.
