About E.

Lee Parsley is a Board Certified civil appellate lawyer practicing in Austin, Texas, with the firm E. Lee Parsley, P.C. Parsley focuses his practice on civil appellate law and on legislative representation (principally in the area of civil justice reform), but also has substantial experience representing clients in all kinds of civil litigation and in divorce cases. Parsley is a member of the prestigious, nine-member Texas Board of Law Examiners, having been appointed to that position in 2007 by the Supreme Court of Texas. Among other things, the Board of Law Examiners writes the examination lawyers must take to be licensed to practice law in Texas. From 2000-2004, Mr. Parsley was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas School of Law, where he taught a seminar on Texas appellate practice. Lee Parsley literally "wrote the book" on Texas appellate law. He is a co-author of eleven chapters of the Texas Litigation Guide, Texas's most renowned legal treatise covering all aspects of Texas civil law. Parsley co-authored Chapters 147-154 on appellate practice and procedure, and Chapters 90 to 92 on pretrial discovery of the Texas Litigation Guide. Lee Parsley was the first Rules Staff Attorney for the Supreme Court of Texas, serving in that position from 1993 to 1997. In addition to being an accomplished appellate lawyer, Parsley, for almost a decade, has been deeply involved in persuading the Texas Legislature to pass meaningful "tort reform" legislation. Legislation on which Lee Parsley worked since 2003 has helped Texas become the Nation's premier state for conducting business. Mr. Parsley obtained an undergraduate degree and an MBA from Texas Tech University, and graduated magna cum laude from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1989. Because of his experience and knowledge, Lee Parsley is a sought-after speaker and writer on appellate, legislative, and litigation matters.
