The first of these significant victories involved an 8-week, 42 defendant complex insurance fraud case tried before the Honorable Lance Ito. Michael has handled hundreds of felony and misdemeanor criminal matters ranging from major narcotics cases, assault cases, DUI's, homicide cases as well as several other serious matters. Michael has represented musicians, doctors, lawyers, athletes, entertainers, entertainment executives, career criminals, and foreign nationals facing immigration consequences. On many occasions, Michael's creative work on behalf of musicians and/or athletes has made it possible to travel to internationally to work. Michael has litigated several highly sophisticated fraud and narcotics cases and recently represented a client who was charged as a co-conspirator in a $45 million muti-ton drug seizure. In another matter, Michael obtained a favorable plea deal for a client charged in one of the largest welfare fraud case in Los Angeles County history. In that case, our client, a county employee, misappropriated more than $700,000 of county funds. Michael often represents individuals with drug addiction and/or alcohol related issues. Michael can secure confidential and professional help for clients Michael works closely with a network of treatment facilities, intervention specialists and therapists to secure the appropriate care when needed. This knowledge has also proven helpful for family members who may not possess the knowledge to do so, or might be unwilling to take on this difficult task. Where appropriate, time spent in a reputable residential treatment facility or local trustee jail can serve as an alternative to incarceration. Michael is an advocate of alternative sentencing and his comprehensive network of experts provide his clients with the best chance to avoid incarceration.
