About Peter

Peter E. Rosden has prosecuted patent and trademark cases before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office since 1982 while keeping up with technological innovation that drives today's economy. Peter has extensive experience with business methods, e-commerce, computer software and hardware and medical device patents and has done patent work for a number of large national and international corporations. He is also well known for his work with advertising law, writing The Law of Advertising. After practicing administrative law as a senior enforcement attorney in Washington, D.C., with the U.S. Treasury Department for five years, he joined the intellectual property law firm of Sixbey, Friedman and Leedom in Arlington, Va., for several years and then started his own law practice. As an adjunct professor, he has taught several seminars on advertising law at the Catholic University School of Law. Peter, who speaks fluent German, has lived in several European countries while concluding various patent, trademark and copyright matters and pursuing several lawsuits pending in Europe. He earned his undergraduate degree – in three years – at Dartmouth College and his law degree from the Columbia University Law School. Peter also studied at the University of Vienna, Austria, and, as a lifelong learner, computer science, engineering and electronic technology at Montgomery College in Rockville, Md.
