I became a lawyer, ironically, because my parents enrolled me in debate class against my will during my first year of high school. My focus turned to personal injury law because I had an aunt obtained brain damage in a car accident. She hired a lawyer in town that settled her case for pennies on the dollar for what her case was actually worth - she ended up bankrupt and in a nursing home until her death. Her case is personal motivation to assure that every client that entrusts my Firm with their case is adequately compensated so justice is done. I attended college at the University of Kansas and worked my way through school at a law firm in Kansas City, Missouri. While at that firm, I was very fortunate to have an excellent mentor who allowed me to assist in all aspects of different cases she was handling. I had the opportunity to draft pleadings and motions, do case research, and even draft an appellate brief before I even attended law school. I attended Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska and graduated in 2010. During my time there, I was a member of the Arbitration and Trial Teams. I also met my future wife and law partner, Chelsea Oxton Dickerson. My wife and I started the The Dickerson Oxton Law Firm because we wanted to become trial lawyers, and particularly, the kind of trial lawyers that stand up and help everyday people through difficult times against insurmountable odds. We represent individuals and families who have been injured against large insurance companies and corporations. I have handled and regularly handle all different kinds of personal injury cases - from the smallest car accident where the person has minor injuries to wrongful death cases where we are assisting a family through an extremely difficult time. Since opening our doors in 2010, we have averaged over a million dollars each year in recoveries for our clients. We return phone calls, we answer questions, we keep clients informed, and we obtain results.
